Device Prerequesites
Your device must be an Apple device approved for use at Nexus (see the Device List and read the Recommended Device FAQs) and you must have an account on the device that has admin rights and you must know the password or passcode.
Device Setup
For your device to be able to connect to the school’s WiFi network it will be renamed and configured with a certificate so it meets the school's security, monitoring and auditing policies. Several tasks are performed and some software & agents installed; this is different for tablets and laptops.

Devices are renamed to allow them to be identified on the school network and Chrome is installed as the school's choice of browser. The devices are enrolled with JAMF, the school’s Mobile Device Management Service to allow authentication certificates to be deployed, their status to be checked and apps to be pushed to Learner's devices for use in class and at home and a link to Nexus Self Service portal. The Cisco Umbrella agent is also is also installed to help protect against malware, botnets, ransomware etc and a link to their Cyberhound Livezone account that they can use in school to review their web usage. If the device is a MacBook the firmware password is changed (to your pupilcode) to protect it from unauthorised reconfiguration.
